McKinley Mitchell - "The End of the Rainbow" (Lyric Video)

In a throwback mood.  I've always loved this McKinley Mitchell song.  

It's kind of sad and depressing but oh so beautiful!  

I went running to the end of the rainbow

Looking for treasures they said I could find

I found nothing but heartaches and trouble

And I'm about to lose my mind

ON the way, the load got heavy

And the burdens got hard to bear

None of my friends was there to help me

Left me standing in the middle of nowhere

With a heart full of pain I was lost

So blind I couldn't see a thing

I couldn't even remember my name

How sad is that??  I wonder what the writer was going through when he penned these lyrics.  It had to be devastating.
