O. B. Buchana featuring Lomax - "You're the One Baby"

This is such a pretty ballad and it stayed on the top 10 charts forever. I love O.B. and Lomax together and hope they collaborate more. This would be a great wedding song or even a good slow dance song for the club, party, etc.  It's a love song about two people who commit to each other and want to spend the rest of their lives together. Beautiful.

You're the one baby!

Val McKnight - "It's Party Time" Official Video

How can you not love this party song?  Val sings about how we all feel when it's the weekend and we're ready to go out just to have a good time.  She tells her friends to meet her down at the hole in the wall.  That's what I'm talking about!

It's party time, I got my man, ,my drink, and I'm gonna make it right.

Enjoy!!

Tucka - "Til the Sun Comes Up"

Smooth.  That would be this song.

What would you do if you ever had  man like me?

We gonna rock until the sun comes up, until the moon comes down, until the sun comes out.  If you feel me say na na na na na na na...

My son did ask me if Tucka was yodeling...um, well, yeah, a little. lol

Enjoy!

Big Yayo featuring Omar Cunningham - "The Boots on Song"

I have to tell you, I love this song.  It's the beat and melody and it makes you want to get up and dance.  I predict that this is going to be big! Big Yayo talks about keeping the spice in his love life and he started thinking outside the box.  So he bought his girl some boots and thought about all the freaky things they could do in them. So, he wants her to meet him in the bedroom wearing nothing but the boots.  Well alright now!!  Love this!

Here are a few of the words:
I want to do some freaky thing tonight
I’mma keep my boots on, I’mma keep my boots on
And you can keep your boots on
I told you what I what and show you what you like
I’mma keep my boots on, I’mma keep my boots on
And you can keep your boots on

Don’t tell your friends, they wouldn’t understand
That you’re a freaky woman and I’m a freaky man….
We do our lovin with a little twist...

I want to do some freaky thing tonight!

Adrena - "He Won't Leave His Wife"

Ladies, the guy never leaves the wife.  Ever.  In this song, like in real life, the man will tell you that there's no love at home and all that he and his wife do is fuss and fight. And you really want to believe him. He says that he would have left his wife a long time ago if there weren't any children - even though the children are grown and gone. You know, we just keep lying to ourselves. Ladies, let these married guys go!!

Columbus Toy - "I'm Gone"

I really like "I'm Gone," maybe because it sounds like southern soul!! 😊

In "I'm Gone," we hear the story about a man who got off work early and went home.  He didn't know his wife was there because he thought she was out shopping.  So he gets in the house and hears a strange sound and yep, found his wife in bed with another man. Columbus Toy says he's gone!!  He says he's packing his clothes up in his car, taking his dog, and turning everything off that's in his name like the lights, cable and telephone - cause he's gone.  She messed up! You can't blame a brother!!

Enjoy!!

T.K. Soul - "Cheap A$$ Man"

T.K. is absolutely right - no woman wants a sorry man. Nope.  No way...no how. lol He says that a woman don't like and can't stand no cheap a$$ man.  A man doesn't have to spend every dime on the girl but buy her some things and show her a little love every now and then - and don't be stingy!

Here's some of T.K's bio as taken from all music.com:
Contemporary soul singer T.K. Soul has built a loyal grassroots following for his music that mixes R&B traditions with modern-day attitude and hip-hop accents. T.K. Soul was born Terence Kimble in Winnfield, Louisiana on August 26, 1964. From a young age, Kimble had a keen ear for music, and soaked up the influences of soul, funk, and R&B artists ranging from Stevie Wonderthe Jackson 5, and Al Green to MazeRick James, and Prince. When he was ten years old, Kimble picked up a guitar, and discovered he could easily play it by ear. Before long, Kimble was also playing keyboards, drums, and bass, and by the time he was in junior high, he had already been recruited to play in the local high school's band. Music became the dominant force in Kimble's life, as he juggled gigs with school bands, church choir, and local R&B acts.  See https://www.allmusic.com/artist/tk-soul-mn0000561580/biography for more great info.

Nelson Curry - "Call Me" (feat. Sugaa Shack Man)

This is a really good song with a good beat.  It would be great in the club cause it makes you want to dance.  Nelson opens the song by asking the operator to call his baby because he thinks she's feeling down.   When he talks to his girl, he lets her know that all she has to do is call him if she gets lonely and he'll be around.  In fact, he even gives her his phone number in the song, 803.439.6673, and tells her that's how to reach him if she wants to get a hold of him.  By the way, that happens to be an actual contact number.

Enjoy!!

I love, love, love Mr. Sam!  You have to give it to the guy for being honest.  He pretty much says that the two of us can't do too much of anything because he doesn't have any money.  Times are hard and he's broke as hell.  Thanks but no thanks!! lol

Lomax - "Miss You Baby"

Lomax is probably one of the most underrated artists out there.  He consistently makes great music and you can really hear the range of his voice in "Miss You Baby."  I heard this song the other night on Spice Internet Radio (wsir-db.com) and fell in love with it from the beginning.  It's a beautiful ballad and a very nice begging song lol. He's been hearing rumors that his girl is leaving and he doesn't want to hold on to her if she doesn't want to be there.  He's wants to work things out and doesn't want to see her go but if it has to be that way, he wants her to know he's going to miss her.

I just have to tell you, I wouldn't leave Lomax if he sang to me. lol

Here is bio info as taken from ReverbNation:  https://www.reverbnation.com/lomax1
Lomax Spaulding was born in a small town in Georgia. He began playing the guitar, the piano, and singing at a very young age. Lomax’s first exposure to public performance began in the Church. A deeply spiritual person, Lomax believes that his talent is a gift from God.
Lomax left home at 18 and joined the very successful group, “Cashflow.” Over the next few years, he toured with Cameo, Levert, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Stephanie Mills, Rodger & Zapp, Atlantic Star, Midnite Star, Luther Vandross, Jermaine Jackson, Alexander O’Neal, Cherelle, Klymaxx, Shelia E, TEASE, Keith Sweat, Silk, XSCAPE, R. Kelly, L.L. Cool J and SOLO.
It was in 2004, after a great deal of prayer, Lomax returned to his Gospel roots. The completion of his Gospel project led to a reawakening of his spiritual self and rejuvenated his musical creativity.
Lomax’s gospel project led to performing for the National Congress of Black Women, Inc. (NCBW). He performed for the group on several occasions and was invited to participate as a musical guest for the unveiling of the bust of Sojourner Truth in Washington DC at the US Capital Visitors’ Center. He was blessed with the honor of meeting and speaking with First Lady, Mrs. Michelle Obama.
In January of 2014 Lomax was invited to perform at the Hylton Memorial Chapel in Virginia for a MLK program. Lomax gave an uplifting performance honoring the late Nelson Mandela. T. K. Soul - "Caught Up In Doing Wrong"

T.K. Soul sings awesome ballads.  This is your typical infidelity song but T.K. is anything but typical.  You can feel his hurt and pain when he sings "Caught Up In Doing Wrong."

He says that he has to think of an alibi before he gets home, knowing that nothing he says is going to be right.  He wants to do right but he's caught up in doing wrong.  Choices T.K., choices.  He is so busted when he gets home but it sounds like he has so many regrets.  Well, even though that's the price you pay, would you take him back??

"Caught Up In Doing Wrong" is taken from TK Soul's 2014 Life After Love CD.

J-Wonn featuring Tucka - "Pretty Girls"

I adore J-Wonn's music and think he's a really talented artist.  But maybe I'm getting old - I'm not a fan of the video.

Big G - "Last Pay Check"

Big G says he's paid child support to his baby's mama for 18 long years and stick a fork in him because he's done!! He said that his son knows that he loves him and that he can call him every day.  He can always come to him for whatever he needs and he'll always be there for him. But as for this girl, that's it!  He's made his last pay check and it made his day.  I love him!

Don't you call my house
Don't you ring my cell phone
I've done right by you for 18 years
Now go the hell on!!

Like a pitbull on a rope!
