Miss Lady Blues - "Come And Get It"

You know Miss Lady Blues from one of my favorite songs by her, "Good Thang." See my post: http://southernsoulparadise.blogspot.com/2015/11/miss-lady-blues-good-thang.html.  This is another song with a positive message - she doesn't worry about what her man is doing out in the streets; he has her back and she has his, too.  He got down on one knee and proposed and she accepted.  So cool.

Ms. Jody - "Midnight Lovers"

Ms. Jody says no one needs to know what they're doing behind closed doors. She said let's be midnight lovers, lovers after dark and friends when the morning comes.  That's a tough life to live.

Love Ms. Jody!

O. B. Buchana - "Just Be A Man About It"

Just be a man about it and tell me the truth.  Are you trying to take my woman because I took your woman from you?  Just be a man about it like I was to you - I didn't bite my tongue; I said and did what I had to do.  Real talk from O. B.  He just wants this guy to stop spreading lies and talking about him behind his back - just be a man and tell it to his face.  He wasn't sneaking behind the guy's back and wants him to rise above the craziness.  It's funny, the rules get out of whack when love is involved.

"Just Be A Man About It" was taken from his 2009 Back Up Lover CD - I've been hearing it a lot lately and really like it.

I already took your woman and you ain't going to get her back again!

Karen Wolfe - "One Good Man"

I adore Karen Wolfe and love this song from her 2009 album titled A Woman Needs A Strong Man. In "One Good Man," Karen says that she just wants one good man - they can't all be taken!  She wants someone to love her just for who she is.  Amen.

It's been awhile since I've listened to the lyrics of a song and written them down.

I'm sitting here alone at home
And all is not well
I’ve got a little story that I've just got to tell
You see I’ve had my share of lovers
In and out of town
They all got my hopes up
Then they let me back down
Every time I need someone
It’s always the same
I’m tired of going in circles
And I’m tired, I’m tired of playing games

Chorus
I just want one good man
That’s all I want, that’s all I want
That’s all I need
I just want one good man
Someone to love me just for me

They say all of the good men are already taken
But just to think of that being true
It’s got my heart breaking
But I’m not going to give up, no
There’s got to be somebody for myself
I know deep down inside
There’s got to be one good man left
But every time I meet someone
It’s always the same
I’m tired of going in circles
And I’m tired, I'm tired of playing games

Chorus

Now I’m not trying, I’m not trying to play the field
All I’m just trying, I’m trying to keep it real
You see I don’t need Tommy, Billy, Jimmy or Dan
All I need, all I need ya’ll is just one real good man
Someone to be there for me
To step up to the table
And when I need real good love
Someone who’s always able

Chorus

Enjoy!

Robert Tillman - "Been Loving You Too Long"

This is some beautiful southern soul music.  "Been Loving You Too Long" was taken from Robert Tillman's 2005 Still Thinking CD and I still enjoy listening to it.  Here's part of his bio as found on the Malaco site:

From the beginning with a band called “Wisdom”, which the release “Drifting” received modest success, to his works with internationally known blues singer, the late McKinley Mitchell, Robert Tillman became a lead vocalist with energetic Freedom Band and the youngest lead singer for the “Drells” which was formerly known as “Archie Bell &The Drells”. With this association, Robert Tillman performed in concert halls with the Temptations, Hal Melvin & The Blue Notes and many more well known vocal groups. After signing with Ace Records, Robert Tillman released his debut album, “Thinking Of You” which became an instant winner and helped him establish his solo career. Robert’s Tillman’s Ace Records release, Hurt By Love Before, certainly insured that Robert Tillman’s sound was not just another fad, but that it would have longevity in the music industry.

For the rest of his bio, go to: http://www.malaco.com/Catalog/Blues-R-B/Robert-Tillman/list.php.
