Nelson Curry -" Same Hotel"

Infidelity!  You've probably heard this situation sung a lot of different ways but I love how Nelson Curry tells it. You know the story, both the husband and wife, who each have a sidepiece, are cheating and they all just so happen to be at the same hotel at the same time. And Nelson says that he thought he heard her in the next room! Who can really say anything?  What a mess.

We were at the same hotel at the same old time
You were with your sidepiece and I was with mine
No one ever sees us and nobody don't know
Girl, we were leaving out of separate doors.

You're a liar and I'm a liar, too!

Karen Wolfe - "What You Gone Do If I Give It to You"

Karen is one of our great soul singers and she always puts on a great show!  In this song, she asks, "what you gone do if I give it to you? What you gone say if I make your day???" Hmm, I don't think he's going to be able to handle all that!

Enjoy Karen's recently released single!

Enjoy!!

Lomax - "Caught Up"

Have I told you that I LOVE everything Lomax?

I tell you, infidelity can cause a whole lot of pain.  Lomax said that his other woman doesn't want to lose her husband and he doesn't want to lose his wife, but they got caught up and things have gotten out of hand.  I'll say.  Neither one of them thought that things would get that deep nor did they think that their feelings would go so far.  They thought they'd have a one-night stand.  But you know how it happens.  An innocent look may turn into a meaningful look, which turns into a touch, and before you know it, feelings are involved and you're wondering how it all started.

He says that if they don't pump the brakes, slow down a little, cover up some of that dirt, it's going to get to the point that they can't turn back and someone's going to get hurt.

What are we going to do, things have gotten out of hand???

Katrenia Jefferson - We Will Miss You!!

My condolences go to the family of Katrenia Jefferson who is now one of heaven's angels.

I never got a chance to see her perform but I listened to and loved her music.  We touched base with each other online and I thought she had a good heart and a kind spirit.  She touched so many lives and her passing is sad and hurts.  She left us with her music that will last forever.

Here's a great interview with Katrenia in the Jefferson Blues Magazine:

May she rest in peace.

Otis Clay - Three Amazing Songs by an Amazing Man

Was listening to Dr. Nick today (on his Southern Soul Rumpin' Show which comes on at 12 noon EST/11am CST on http://www.wpfwfm.org/radio/) and he played "If I Could Reach Out" by Otis Clay - what a beautiful song.  When I heard the opening bars, I just knew it was going to be an Al Green song.  lol Ok, I was wrong. It was Otis Clay singing a great song with a wonderful message -  if he could reach out and help somebody, help somebody find their way, if he could reach out and help somebody, then he's had a good day. Amen!

I'm always amazed at the new things I learn every day.😊

Here's "If I Could Reach Out."

The main Otis Clay song I remembered was - "Trying To Live My Life Without You."  I loved this song!!

But this is what surprised me the most - I had no idea that one of my favorite gospel songs, "When The Gates Swing Open," was performed by the same Otis Clay.  I LOVE this song and it's been in the playlist on my phone for awhile now!!  You can feel the deep emotion when he sings this.  He says I want to thank you Father for all the things you've done for me!  You've been so good to me! This touches my heart.  I read that before Otis died on January 8, 2016, he would often sing this song from the pulpit in church. Here's a great article on the late Otis Clay: https://southsideweekly.com/when-the-gates-swing-open/.

You can read Otis Clay's bio on his website: http://otisclay.net/biography/.

Someone said that he would sometimes sing at multiple funerals in one Saturday, not just for dear friends but also for complete strangers.  He was the guy who would ease the sorrow of others.

What an amazing man!
