Rosalyn Candy - "Stroke It"

I wrote a post on "Stroke It" about two years ago and I still really, really like this song.  I have to dance every time it comes on.  Oh yeah! lol (I believe this is a remake of the original.)

I don't want me a one-minute man!
Enjoy!

Wendell B - "Where Were You Last Night"

I love Wendell B's music and his fabulous voice.  I still believe that he is crossover music material and expect to hear him on r&b stations in addition to southern soul/blues ones.  "Where Were You Last Night" is one of his latest releases and has been on WDLT's top 10 most requested songs for some weeks now.  I can definitely understand why.  It's beautiful.

"Where Were You Last Night" is a story of a man who's looking for his woman - he wants to know if she was with her friends, if she's at the Holiday Inn, if she's been drinking again, etc.  Like a lot of spouses (it happens to both men and women), he sounds a little paranoid but it could be it's because he feels as if something is wrong here; he just wants to know where she is.  True feelings. What do you think?

Enjoy!!

Throwback Thursday - Donnie Ray, O. B. Buchana, and Denise LaSalle

Happy Throwback Thursday!!!  Here are three excellent songs that I just love: "Let's Go Dancing" by Donnie Ray, "I Can't Choose" by O. B. Buchana, and "Going Through Changes" by Denise LaSalle.  I think "I Can't Choose" is the first O. B. Buchanan song I can remember hearing.   All three, including Denise LaSalle's ballad, make me want to get up and move.  lol  They are all great!

Enjoy!

The Lewis Dee Show

One of my favorite on-air personalities is Lewis Dee.  He plays a grown and sexy mix of southern soul, blues, old skool, back in the day R&B, and classic soul music.  I've been listening to him and following him for some time now and I'm honored to call him a friend.

Lewis Dee's "Grown and Sexy" show is syndicated with quite a few internet radio stations and the airing of his show is growing and growing.  One of the great things about the internet is that you can find southern soul any time.  As a result, you can find Lewis Dee's show every day of the week and below is a list of most of the places it is aired.

Katrenia Jefferson - "Living a Lie"

I heard this the other day and I have not been able to get it out of my head. I love it and wrote about it a little while ago - see my post from a year ago: http://southernsoulparadise.blogspot.com/2016/01/katrenia-jefferson-living-lie.html.   Katrenia Jefferson's voice is amazing!!!

Listen to this awesome chorus:
Heartbroken, living a lie
Love broken, and no alibi
I got tears on my face
And my heart's out of place
I'm wounded inside
And my heart can't deny

Love this!!

RIP Big Cynthia - "Let Me See Your Rock"

I am so hurt; it's not for us to understand.

I love this song and was getting ready to post it the other day.  Big Cynthia has been on the charts for the last few months and I was looking forward to hearing more music from her.  I'll miss her unique style and the joy she brought to the music.

My prayers go out to Cynthia Walker's family.
