Happy New Year

Happy New Year!! Wow, it's 2010, a new decade and the time to make those infamous resolutions. I know you made one - what's yours? If you tell me, I'll tell you mine! :)

Last year was a good year and I'm going to make sure this one will be even better.

I want to start something new and give you my top five blues songs for the month. It's hard to come up with just five so these can change at any time but this is what they are for now:

1. You're So Freak by David Brinston
This song isn't new and it's on the ever elusive Fly Right CD that's out of circulation. But, it has an awesome beat and even if the lyrics are a little risque, I LOVE it! Thanks Val for finding it for me.

2. Round The World by Latimore
This is fairly new and it just reminds you how great Latimore is.

3. If You're Man Enough to Leave by Karen Wolfe
No words are needed - this is a fabulous song!

4. It Is What It Is by Wilson Meadows
I fell in love with him with Still My Love; this is good dancing music.

5. Anything by TK Soul
He is one of my favorite artists and I love all of his music - it was hard to pick out one song.

Bonus Record
Stop Doggin' Me Around by Johnnie Taylor
JT was the greatest blues singer to me and this record is a classic.

Stay tuned for more...

  3. Hi Anonymous, thanks so much for writing!! You may want to try to listen to www.southernsoulradio.com - they have pretty good music 24-7. There's also www.thebigstation.fm/ which plays blues from 2 - 4 through the week and all weekend long. I started listening to them whenever I went home to Camden and have been listening ever since. You'll get hooked!
