William Bell - "Drinkin' and Thinkin'"

I don't have this CD and don't remember this record being played on any station, but I heard it the other day and, wow!  This is one of those songs that they should have pushed on the airways; it is really, really pretty.   His voice is so smooth and beautiful.  This is one of those slow songs you put on at night or the kind of song you want to hear William Bell sing live in a little blues club.  You will love it any way you hear it.  This is a story of a guy who ends up in a bar and is drinking and thinking because he just broke up with his girl.  As he sat there, he realized how much she really means to him and that he should get up and go home.  You know William Bell from "Trying To Love Two," "Living on Borrowed Time," "New Lease on Life" (see my posts dated 7/22/2012), "I Forgot To Be Your Lover" (see 6/3/2011), and tons of other music.  He even has his own music production company, Wilbe Productions - I'm so proud of him!  He's been recording music for years and he's great.

Sittin' and drinkin' and I started thinking
Maybe I was wrong, I should go on home
I should go on back home
You see I really love the girl
And to me she means the whole world
Yes so I’m just sitting here
Sittin' and drinkin', I started thinking
Of all the good times that we’ve had
Of all the good times we’ve had
And when I think of what I’m losing
When I think of what I’m giving up
It hurts so bad so I’m just
Sittin' and drinkin' and I started thinking
Maybe I was wrong, I should go on home

Yeah, I’m sittin' and drinkin'
Yeah and I started thinking
Oh, of how much my baby means to me
Oh and I need her
I love her, yes I do
And hey I believe that we can make everything alright
I think I better get up and go on home
Right now, tonight, yeah I’m
Sittin' and drinkin' and I started thinking
That maybe there’s just a possibility that I could have been wrong
All the fault could have been mine all along
I’m drinkin' and thinkin', yeah baby, I love you
Lovely!
